The account is served on each heir and residuary legatee, with ten days’ notice before homologation. A final account is served under art. 1314 or by certified mail (art. 3335).

Any interested person may oppose the account at any time before homologation (art. 3336).

Homologation of a final account has the effect of a final judgment. Homologation of an interim account is only prima facie proof of its correctness (art. 3337).

In an independent administration, the heirs and legatees may waive the final account (art. 3396.19).
